Foundling Museum, London
TM Lighting provided their TM Lighting Classic Picture Lights to illuminate the permanent art collection at The Foundling Museum, London. The Foundling Museum explores the history of the Foundling Hospital, the UK’s first children’s charity and first public art gallery.
The Foundling Museum is responsible for the care and maintenance of two collections – the Foundling Hospital Collection and the Foundling Museum Collection, which includes the Gerald Coke Handel Collection. These encompass everyday objects used in the Foundling Hospital, alongside documents, records, musical scores and librettos, photographs and oral history recordings, as well as significant works of art, clocks, furniture and interiors, many of which were created especially for the Hospital and donated by their makers.
The works of art made and donated by artists such as Hogarth, Thomas Gainsborough, Joshua Reynolds and John Michael Rysbrack are mainly displayed within original eighteenth-century interiors from the Foundling Hospital.
TM Lighting Classic Picture Light
The deeper classical design of the TM Classic Picture Light is designed to fit seamlessly into the aesthetic of exisiting classical and historic buildings.
The depth of the hood offers added glare control, particularly useful on tall canvases in large open spaces.
TM Lighting ensure the full colour of an artwork is brought to life through the use of the highest quality LED lighting which deliver the full colour spectrum of light and even distribution.
This even distribution ensures that the canvas is viewed as the artist intended and not artificially enhanced in a particular region of a painting.
