Crafts Council’s mission is to promote creativity and craftsmanship, emphasising the positive impact of craft skills and knowledge on individuals and society.
They achieve this through several initiatives, including supporting craft makers and businesses, curating a notable Crafts Council Collection, offering educational programs for various age groups, hosting exhibitions both in London and nationwide, publishing a magazine called “Crafts,” and organizing the international fair “Collect” for contemporary craft and design. Additionally, they actively engage in research and advocacy efforts to highlight the social, economic, and cultural importance of the craft sector and advocate for supportive policies. They also foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the craft community through Craft UK, a network of craft-related organizations.
We supplied our Gallery Spotlights to illuminate the objects on display in the exhibition. It was the ideal lighting choice for the high ceilings within the gallery space as the product’s powerful light beam can easily be focussed down to the objects situated close to the ground. The white finish used for these lights complement the contemporary décor, enabling them to blend seamlessly in with its surroundings. The magnetic adjustable lenses give Crafts Council ultimate flexibility for lighting the varied collections of craft on display in the gallery.
