TM Lighting Official Art Lighting Partner for Masterpiece London 2017.

TM Lighting is delighted to announce their collaboration with Masterpiece London as official ‘Art Lighting Partner’ at pivotal art event during the capital’s Summer art scene.

TM Lighting partnered as art lighting specialists across specific aspects to the fair, including lighting a series of major exhibits, showcases and installations using TM Lighting products.

As art lighting specialist, TM Lighting has looked carefully at the overall space, the specific needs of each gallery and the artwork itself including both 2D and 3D pieces, before developing the bespoke lighting solutions. Below is an outline of the exhibits, spaces and installations which have been lit by TM Lighting at Masterpiece London 2017.

Located in walkways throughout the fair, significant artworks supported by TM Lighting include:

  • An Eduardo Paolozzi bronze head (c1957-8) for Offer Waterman Gallery,
  • ‘Sitting Figure’ (1962) in bronze by sculptor and artist Lynn Chadwick for Pangolin,
  • ‘Waterfall’ (2014) by Japanese painter Hiroshi Senju for Sundaram Tagore,
  • a historic pair of cannon cast by Spanish gunfounder Mathias Solano (c1747) for Peter Finer,
  • ‘Helix’ by painter Sandra Blow for The Fine Art Society
  • a Roman statue of Silvanus in marble, dated 1st Century A.D. for Colnaghi.

This year, Masterpiece launched MASTERPIECE PRESENTS, a new large-scale exhibition space supported by TM Lighting and showcasing a specially commissioned installation by Iván Navarro, enhancing the Fair’s contemporary offering. The artwork Impenetrable Room, 2017, has been commissioned by New York based Paul Kasmin Gallery, who join the Fair for the first time.

TM Lighting has also lit and supported ‘The Cape Reimagined’, an installation by Burberry, the fair’s Preview Day Partner.

Internationally renowned and award winning Interior Designer, Maurizio Pellizzoni, has designed the Lecture Theatre at this year’s Masterpiece, with a theme of ‘Secret Garden’. Featured works here include several acrylics by John Golding for Piano Nobile, works from Louise Nelevson from Cortesi Gallery and Ricardo Mazal and Sohan Qadri for Gallery Sundaram Tagore.

Masterpiece London’s Principal Sponsor, Royal Bank of Canada, has presented photographs by contemporary Canadian artist Edward Burtynsky within the RBC lounge; TM Lighting have lit a key piece situated in the entrance to this space – ‘Phospher Trailing Pond’ #2 (2012).

TM Lighting has showcased the different effects light can create in lighting precious jewels, working with fine art jewellers Symbolic and Chase to highlight the beauty of the jewellery on display, in addition to a showcase chandelier from Mauritz Waldemeyer and working with TM Lighting LED elements.

TM Lighting has provided specialist art lighting for The Fine Art Society’s stand as well as antique clock dealers, Carter Marsh & Co.
