CURATOR IN CONVERSATION WITH APOLLO
TERRAFORMING FUTURES – SCULPTURE, SUSTAINABILITY, AND THE SHIFTING BALANCE OF NATURE
Apollo and TM Lighting are hosting a special preview and conversation with curator Freeny Yianni led by Arjun Sajip, web editor of Apollo.
The conversation will explore the work of the ten artists and the curator’s process. The selected artists for the Gilbert Bayes Award Winners exhibition 2025 are; Amanda Cornish, Beverley Duckworth, Bo-Yi Wu, Emmanuel Awuni, Lucy Mulholland, Madeleine Ruggi, Regan Boyce, Salvatore Pioni, Stephen Burke and Yidan Kim.
The speakers will unpick the theme of this year’s award, Terraforming Futures – Sculpture, sustainability, and the shifting balance of nature and explore how each of the sculptors have engaged with urgent ecological questions, from material reuse and up-cycling to speculative visions of post-climate-change landscapes. Works range from organic forms that reference renewal and resilience, to industrial remnants reimagined as future ruins.
The exhibition is generously supported by TM Lighting, which for nearly a decade has used its not-for-profit gallery space, TM Gallery, to support early and mid-career artists in collaboration with galleries and curators. This event is part of an ongoing series of partnered talks with Apollo.
Wednesday 11 February at 6.30pm.
Presented by the Royal Society of Sculptors at TM Gallery.
