KAIROS | Stewart Geddes
Curated by Freeny Yianni
In collaboration with CLOSE Gallery
Kairos presents a new exhibition of paintings by British artist Stewart Geddes, exploring colour, light, movement and perception through an evolving language of abstraction.
The title refers to the ancient Greek concept of kairos: the recognition of the right or opportune moment. This idea resonates with Geddes’ approach to painting, where colour, gesture and composition develop through an intuitive response to the moment of making.
Across the exhibition, shifting relationships between colour, form and space invite the viewer to look closely and experience the paintings in their own time. Light becomes an important part of this encounter, revealing subtle changes in tone, texture and atmosphere as the viewer moves through the gallery.
For this exhibition, TM Lighting has considered how carefully positioned illumination can support Geddes’ exploration of colour and perception, allowing the works to reveal their depth and character while remaining responsive to the surrounding space.
