Contemporary, artistic and elegant, Brasserie of Light is a new destination restaurant and bar offering all day dining in a chic, Art Deco space set within Selfridges department store, London.
The centrepiece of the restaurant is a 24ft crystal encrusted Pegasus statue created especially by Damien Hirst, his largest scale artwork in London. The sculpture is set in interior design from Martin Brudnizki, which features bold, colourful and light filled interiors, with an impressive central bar and private dining room.
TM Lighting worked hand in hand with Hirst, Pangolin and We Make It Happen to provide specialist LED art lighting to highlight Hirst’s new work within the destination restaurant.
TM Lighting selected their G150 LED gallery spotlights and designed a custom mounting stanchion to integrate seamlessly into David Chipperfield’s monumental Duke Street glass façade. The G150’s illuminate the gigantic crystal and diamond dust encrusted Pegasus statue by Damien Hirst. The spotlights were custom finished to match seamlessly with the interiors and architecture of the space.
The GalleryOneFifty (G150) is a high-performance track mounted art light specially developed for high ceiling spaces typical in galleries, museums and contemporary spaces. The G150 utilises high CRI 95+ full colour rendition LED’s to ensure true colour accuracy and bring art to life.
TM Lighting’s RivoForty (R40) LED accent lights were also used to illuminate smaller crystal Pegasus editions that adorn the mirrored columns in the bar. TM’s RIVO Forty was selected for its combination of classical design features, antique finish and high colour rendition LEDs, echoing the chic style of the new art-deco brasserie.
