TM Lighting joined forces with John Jones to illuminate a tailor-made artwork plinth featuring integrated lighting for the prestigious Picasso Ceramics, Impressionism & Modern Art sale hosted at Christie’s on January 31st.
This bespoke plinth was meticulously constructed using the finest American walnut, stained and finished to perfection, while safeguarding the showcased artwork with a UV protective museum-grade perspex case. Within this innovative design, an interchangeable lighting module equipped with cutting-edge LED technology was seamlessly integrated. This technology served a dual purpose: it accentuated the artwork’s vibrant colors while ensuring its ongoing conservation by emitting no harmful UV, infrared, or forward heat.
The top section of the plinth was ingeniously designed to be detachable, marked by a piano black detail on the case. This unique feature offered the flexibility to present the artwork on its stand or as a captivating centerpiece, ideal for enhancing a dinner setting, for example. Additionally, it incorporated a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, ensuring that the lighting remained uninterrupted even when unplugged.
