TM Stanchion System
The TM Stanchion system uses a series of posts connected by barrier rods to create a clear and effective protective boundary around valuable objects and displays. Integrated within each post are our ZeroThirty spotlights, providing discreet, precisely controlled lighting without the need for additional floor-standing or ceiling-mounted fixtures.
By positioning the luminaires at the front of the display and directing the light towards the exhibits, the system significantly reduces the potential for direct glare from the lights, creating a more comfortable viewing experience for visitors while maintaining the visual integrity of the historic interior.
The integrated ZeroThirty spotlights offer exceptional flexibility, combining interchangeable optics with full pan and tilt adjustment. This allows each luminaire to be precisely aimed at the subject, ensuring accurate illumination of exhibits regardless of their size, position or orientation. Whether highlighting a sculpture, accenting individual artefacts, illuminating a tapestry or washing a wall with light, the system provides complete control over the distribution and direction of light.
The modular design also allows the standard barrier rods to be replaced with a linear lighting module, creating additional opportunities for display illumination. This option is particularly effective for lighting tapestries and other large textile works, delivering an even distribution of light while maintaining the protective barrier around the exhibit. The system is ideally suited to the large-scale tapestries commonly found in grand historic interiors, where gentle, uniform illumination is required to reveal detail and texture across the full width of the artwork.
A further advantage of the system is its simplified power distribution. Power is only required at the beginning of the run, allowing multiple stanchions and luminaires to be supplied from a single connection point. This makes the system particularly well suited to historic houses and heritage interiors, where access to power is often limited and introducing new wiring can be challenging. By distributing power through the barrier system itself, the installation remains discreet while avoiding the visual clutter of additional cabling and infrastructure.
By combining protection, lighting and power distribution within a single system, the installation reduces visual clutter, eliminates the need for separate barrier and lighting infrastructure, and provides a flexible solution that can adapt to the changing requirements of museums, galleries, historic houses and exhibition spaces.
